My martial arts journey began when I was 10 years old. After a rough start in my childhood, my parents introduced me to Yoshukai Karate in Montgomery, Alabama.  I was immediately intrigued and what started as a few lessons to get my feet wet turned into a way of life.  After achieving my black belt in high school, I became an assistant instructor for multiple classes from kindergarten ages to senior citizens.

Along with teaching, I was an avid competitor on the U.S. Yoshukai Karate National Tournament Circuit where I took top honors multiple times in youth and adult black belt kata, weapon, kumite, and musical form competitions.  In 2004, I attended the University of Alabama where I opened my first dojo on campus and studied Telecommunications and Film.

In 2007, I was awarded Instructor of the Year. After graduation, I left the dojo under the tutelage of multiple students who earned their black belts. I moved to Fairhope, Alabama to work for a custom apparel company and opened my second dojo at a local church. In 2014, I joined the Army, following in my dad's footsteps. This led me to being stationed at Fort Stewart and plant my roots in this incredible community.

It's truly a great honor and privilege to be able to open my final and long lasting dojo here in Midway.

With over 20+ years of experience in combined training and instructing martial arts, my passion is to help as many students as possible to learn the benefits that U.S. Yoshukai Karate has to offer both in the dojo and in life.
